About the Club

It is a bloodless game yet it is an intense battle of wits and will. Chess is also completely nonbiased. It does not care who or what you are.
There is no colour or gender, on wins, lossess and draws.

All you need to play is a competitve spirit and a willingness to learn. So, if you are looking for a challenge, then Timmins Chess Club invites you to become a member.

We welcome people of all ages and every level of competition. No one should be intimidated, nor feel out of place. Chess is not just for brainiacs, but it is a game to be enjoyed by everyone. It is not too complicated to learn, but it takes a lifetime to master. And no matter how good you think you are, there is alwas someone better. Here, you jhave to lose gracefully to improve, just like in life.

The Timmins Chess Club meets every Saturday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the 101 Mall food court. The mall is on the corner of Algonquin Boulevard and Spruce Street North.

Membership in the club costs $25 for 12 months and visitors can play for $2 per visit. For more information, contact club president Bruce MacKinnon at 705-360-5074.
